Welcome!

My name is Hendrik Erenstein, husband and proud father of two2. As long I can remember I had a keen interest in learning, no matter what. As soon as I could read and found out what an encyclopedia was I was reading about all kinds of things. My educational career started a the MAVO, brought me through MBO Chemistry, HBO Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology and finally a master’s in the same field. So, even though I am a persistent student, a prodigy I am certainly not.

After finishing my bachelor I was able to stay on as a lecturer at the above-mentioned Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen (NL)with a focus on radiation safety and radiography. I was able to combine this position with a role as a radiographer at the University Medical Centre in Groningen, but after just short of a decade I decided to increase my focus on programming and research.

After finishing my masters (June '17) the depression, which had been lingering for some time, finally worsened (October '17) I got medical support and got prescribed anti depressants (November '17) (more on this here) . I ask you not to feel sorry for me, this finally gave a kick in the **** to not only learn about things but also about me. In the following months I’ve delved into (Stoic) philosophy, changed my habits, regained my focus and improved prioritizing.

Through the years I have walked the line between personal and professional, I believe we should be more open about our experiences in order for others to avoid making the same mistakes. Over the years I have never considered myself special, sometimes even an imposter.
